The challenge
The NY Entertainment Center was running their annual Christmas Experience event for the first time at scale, three days, December 24-26, with a target of 800+ family registrations. Their previous marketing had been entirely organic Instagram posts and word of mouth, which had worked at smaller scale but couldn't be relied on for a bigger venue. They needed a proper registration funnel that would capture search intent, convert visitors who were comparison-shopping holiday events, and create urgency without feeling pushy. The challenge was also emotional, families don't 'buy' a Christmas event, they invest in memories. The copy had to honor that.
What we built
We took a deliberate, page-by-page approach, every section had to earn its place. Here's what that looked like in practice:
- 01Designed a festive red-and-teal visual system that screams 'Christmas' without looking like a discount retail flyer. The palette (bright red #ff1f2c with teal #00d2b4 accents) was chosen to feel energetic and premium, not cheap.
- 02Built the hero around a single, emotional promise: 'Best Christmas Experience.' No feature lists, no pricing tiers, just the promise and a 'Register Now' CTA. The goal was to capture intent fast, before visitors bounced to a competitor.
- 03Added a clear 'About Our Event' section with location (New York, NY) and dates (December 24-26) prominently displayed. Families searching for holiday events need this information instantly, burying it costs conversions.
- 04Included three testimonials with photos from past attendees (Kate Peterson, Emma Smith, Amanda Wilson). For family events, social proof from other parents is more persuasive than any feature list.
- 05Built an event schedule section showing what families would experience across the three days. This helps parents visualize the experience and justify the purchase to themselves.
- 06Integrated the registration form directly on the page (no separate checkout flow) to minimize friction. Every additional click costs registrations.
The outcome
We launched in 2024 and have been tracking real numbers since. Here's what the funnel is doing 2 months in:
“We projected 800 registrations and hit 1,142. The funnel didn't just convert, it converted the right families. The testimonials section alone was worth the entire engagement. Parents told us on the way out that they signed up because of what other parents said.”
